Bob Caruthers had an impressive outing as the Brooklyn Bridegrooms smashed the
overmatched struggling Pittsburg Alleghenys, 11 to 1.

It was a good day for Brooklyn thanks to Tom Daly. He singled bringing in a
run in the 3rd inning and belted a three-run homer in the 8th inning.
Brooklyn kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6
different innings.

The victory went to Caruthers(13-14) who went the distance allowing 1 run.
Kirtley Baker(5-12) absorbed the loss. He got hammered, allowing 13 hits and
6 walks in 8 innings.

'We didn't have a whole lot of chances today,' Guy Hecker said. 'Caruthers
just was too much for our guys.'
