Herman Long had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Boston Beaneaters defeated the
Pittsburg Pirates in 10 innings by the score of 13 to 12 at South End

Both teams had scored 12 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Boston

doubled. Red Ehret then let loose a wild pitch. Billy Nash then stroked a
base-hit giving Boston the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.
Boston bats were hot in the 1st inning with 4 runs on 5 hits and the 7th
inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 3 hits. This was a game of many highs
and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 6 times in all.

Harry Staley(9-7) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. The
loss was charged to Ehret(6-4). He allowed 22 hits and 5 walks in 9 and 1/3
