Kid Nichols allowed Frank Selee to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and center fielder Billy Hamilton had 3 base hits and 3 RBI at League Park as
the Boston Beaneaters beat the Cincinnati Reds by the count of 7 to
3.

Boston took the lead for good in the top of the 4th inning when they scored 2
runs on 3 hits.  Boston totaled 16 hits on the afternoon.  

Nichols(20-4) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Bill
Dammann(5-4) suffered the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving
up 14 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
