Kid Carsey allowed Arthur Irwin to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
at Boundary Field as the Washington Senators beat the floundering Cleveland
Spiders by the count of 3 to 1.

Washington jumped on top of Cleveland in the 5th inning plating an isolated
run on 3 hits.  Both teams ended up with 10 hits on the afternoon.  

The win went to Carsey(5-4) who allowed 1 run in the game. Crazy Schmit(0-6)
was hit with the loss.  He allowed 10 hits and no walks in 8 innings.  

The Washington ballclub's record now stands at 24-56.  Not able to get much
going in recent weeks, Cleveland is 0-10 of late and now has an overall
record of 16-64, worst in the league.
