Brooklyn promptly took the lead in their half of the first plating an isolated run on 2 base hits. That early scoring held up. The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again. Kennedy(10-10) was credited with the shutout. Bill Phillips(7-6) ended up with the loss. When questioned about his counterpart after the game, Phillips was lavish in his praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were going to be in for a long night. Kennedy brought his 'A' game with him - he had good stuff and was able to spot it perfectly. He probably only made one or two bad pitches the entire game!
