Bill Phillips had a strong outing and Sam Crawford smacked 3 triples as the
Cincinnati Reds outscored the St. Louis Cardinals 5 to 0.

Cincinnati started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring one runner on 2 base hits.  That early scoring was all that
Phillips(8-6) needed.  Cincinnati managed 13 hits in their victory.  

Stan Yerkes(11-12) was charged with the loss.  He gave up 5 runs and 13 hits
in 8 and 2/3 innings.
