Addie Joss carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning and Harry Bay had 2 base
hits at League Park as the Cleveland Naps beat the Boston Americans in 10
innings 1 to 0.

The run-column was full of goose eggs at the end of nine full innings.
Cleveland won the game in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Joss
drew a walk. Joss took second on a stolen base. Jim Jackson then drew a
walk. Bay followed next and he banged out a single making Cleveland
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Both teams totaled 5
hits on the afternoon.

It was the 4th shutout of the year for Joss(13-4). The right-handed Joss lost
his no-hit bid when Jimmy Collins doubled with two outs in the 6th inning.
George Winter(9-6) was hit with the loss.

'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed. Man alive, things were getting awfully
grim,' noted Cleveland's manager. 'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins
together and turn things around!'
