Jim Pastorius pitched a complete game as the Brooklyn Superbas bested the
Cincinnati Reds 5 to 4 at Washington Park.

Cincinnati was unable to climb back into it after Brooklyn went ahead for good
in the 5th inning plating an isolated run.  Cincinnati threatened in the 9th
but Brooklyn was able to put down the rally.  

The victory was credited to Pastorius(2-10) who went the distance, allowing 4
runs. Roy Hitt(4-4) was the loser.  He allowed 8 hits and 4 walks in 8
innings.
