Left fielder George Stone had 3 base hits and 4 RBI as the sizzling Detroit
Tigers topped the New York-NL Giants in 10 innings by a score of 7 to 6 at
Bennett Park.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Detroit won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Larry Schlafly
got things rolling when he drew a walk.  Fielder Jones next to the plate and
he singled.  Topsy Hartsel then hit a deep fly which plated a run.  Frank
Chance followed next and he drew a walk.  Tommy Leach stepped into the box
and laced a single resulting in an exciting win for Detroit and a raucous
post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Detroit finished with 13 hits
in the victory.  

Red Ames(7-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 2/3 of an inning and
allowing no runs. Jake Weimer(0-4) was the loser in relief.  He pitched 2/3
of an inning and surrendered 2 hits and 2 walks.

Detroit won for the 7th straight time.
