Lady Baldwin whiffed 13 batters and Dan Brouthers jacked one out of the
ballyard and had 3 RBI at Association Park as the smoking-hot Detroit
Wolverines beat the Kansas City Cowboys 7 to 3.

The Kansas City fans didn't appreciate the big day Brouthers had. He hit a
bases-empty home run in the 5th inning and tripled which was good for two
runs in the 6th inning. Detroit finished with 14 hits in the victory.

Baldwin(19-11) got the victory, allowing 3 runs for the game. Stump
Weidman(9-16) took the loss. He was touched for 14 hits and 2 walks in 9
innings.

'He was really impressive today,' Weidman said of his counterpart. 'Our guys
were just swinging at air.'
