WEB GEMS- Top 8th: Joe Gerhardt robbed Jack Boyle of a base hit.

Dave Foutz had a complete game as the potent St. Louis Browns really laid it
on the New York Metropolitans 15 to 3.

New York never recovered after St. Louis took the lead in the top of the 2nd
inning when they tallied 3 runs on 3 hits. The key at-bat was by Yank
Robinson who silenced Cricket Grounds as he stroked a base-hit bringing home
two baserunners. St. Louis provided plenty of action in the 4th inning
plating 4 runs and the 5th inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 6 hits. St.
Louis simply wore out the New York pitching staff, scoring in 6 different
innings.

The victory was credited to Foutz(16-8) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. Al Mays(8-20) was given the loss. He was touched for 18 hits and 6
walks in 9 innings.
