The smoking-hot Philadelphia Phillies nipped the Pittsburgh Pirates in 11
innings 4 to 3 at Exposition Park in a hard fought contest.

The score was tied at 3 after nine.  Philadelphia was victorious in the 11th
inning.  After an out was recorded, Mickey Doolin delivered a base-hit.
Kitty Bransfield followed next and he delivered a one-base hit.  Red Dooin
then reached on an error scoring the run.  Philadelphia ended up with 14 hits
for the game while Pittsburgh had 9.  

Bill Duggleby(13-3) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Chappie
McFarland(5-3) was given the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 14 hits and 2
walks in 11 innings.  

Philadelphia extended their winning streak to 8 games.
