Arnie Portocarrero blanked Brooklyn in a very well-pitched complete game at
Ebbets Field as the New York-AL Yankees embarrassed the Brooklyn Dodgers by
the lopsided score of 14 to 0.

Wally Post propelled New York-AL to victory. He laced a single plating a run
in the 1st inning, launched a three-run homer in the 3rd inning and tripled
scoring a run in the 4th inning. New York-AL had 15 hits for the afternoon.

It was the 3rd shutout of the year for Portocarrero(7-4). Harvey Haddix(3-8)
was charged with the loss. He was touched for 11 hits and 2 walks in 3 and
2/3 innings.

'Actually, I didn't feel that comfortable at the plate today' Post said after
the game. 'Despite that, I'm happy with the results!
