Tommy Bond tossed a complete game and Curry Foley had 3 base hits and 4 RBI as
the Boston Red Stockings bested the Cleveland Blues 12 to 7 at Kennard Street
Park.

Boston brought 5 runs across the plate in the top of the 6th inning when they
had 4 base hits.  The key at-bat was by Charley Jones who silenced the crowd
when he laced a single which was good for two runs.  Boston banged out 16
hits on the afternoon.  

The win was credited to Bond(18-9) who went the whole way allowing 7 runs.
Bobby Mitchell(4-9) was the loser.  He was unable to control the Boston
offense and allowed 16 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings.  

The Boston ballclub's record now stands at 22-19.  With the loss, Cleveland
has a record of 4-6 lately, 12-28 overall.
