Third baseman Harry Steinfeldt had 2 base hits as the St. Louis-AL Browns
outscored the Philadelphia-AL Athletics 3 to 2.

Ed Killian(12-8) earned his pay with a solid performance for St. Louis-AL.  He
allowed 8 hits and 4 walks in 8 innings.  Philadelphia-AL had a chance to
come back in the 9th but they came up short.  

Killian got relief help from Bill Bailey who gained credit for his 1st save.
The loss was charged to Andy Coakley(8-10).  'He gutted it out' Tim Singer
said of Killian.  'I was very impressed by his tenacity.'
