Cincinnati erupted with the game winning runs in the top of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs using 2 hits. Art Devlin led off and started the attack as he smacked a single. Joe Tinker next to the plate and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Davy Jones then laced a one-base hit, and an error was also committed, knocking in a run. Hal Chase came up and he hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning. Philadelphia-AL went down quietly in the bottom of the 9th. The victory was credited to Slim Sallee(8-6) who went 2 innings, allowing 4 runs. Summers was credited with his 4th save. Bert Humphries(1-2) was tagged with the loss in relief. Andy Spector was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in the mood for questions, but I'm sure Rob Hickok will be glad to talk about the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
