Fred Snodgrass had 5 hits and 4 RBI at Redland Field as the spectacular New
York Giants won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the Cincinnati Reds
by the count of 25 to 16.
Snodgrass led the offense for New York. He slapped a base-hit in the 3rd
inning, doubled with all three runners coming home in the 4th inning, laced a
base-knock in the 5th inning, ripped a one-base hit in the 9th inning and
delivered a base-hit resulting in a run in the 9th inning. New York provided
plenty of action in the 4th inning when they had 4 runs on 5 hits, the 5th
inning which saw them score 4 runs on 5 hits and the 9th inning which saw
them score 10 runs on 9 hits. New York dominated offensively as they scored
in 6 different innings.
The win was credited to Doc Crandall(8-4) who went 3 innings allowing 3 runs.
Frank Gregory(2-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He couldn't find the
plate, issuing 6 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.
