One run was the difference at Forbes Field as the Pittsburgh Pirates scored 4
runs in the 1st inning and defeated the Cincinnati Reds 5 to 4.

Jack Harshman(6-5) came on to close the door tight in relief.  He allowed just
1 hit and no walks in 2 innings.  Cincinnati had a chance in the 9th but they
came up short.  

Joe Nuxhall(8-9) was given the loss.  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 9
hits and 6 walks.
