Tim Keefe allowed just 2 hits at West Diamond as the New York Metropolitans
beat the struggling Brooklyn Atlantics 2 to 1.

New York came up with 1 run in the 6th inning. Candy Nelson reached on an
error. Steve Brady stepped up next and he lined a one-base hit. Brady took
off for second and slid in with a stolen base. Dude Esterbrook came up and
he would ground out scoring the run. Brooklyn could do no damage in the 9th.

Keefe(19-9) got the victory, allowing 1 run for the game. Sam Kimber(13-11)
was given the loss. He was pinned with the loss despite not allowing an
earned run in his 8 innings of work.

'Keefe pitched a gem of a game', Brooklyn's manager recounted. 'He kept our
batters off balance the entire game.'
