Third baseman Tom Burns had 2 base hits and Frank Dwyer completed the game
without help from the bullpen as the Chicago White Stockings defeated the
Indianapolis Hoosiers 6 to 5 at West Side Park.

The deciding run was scored by Chicago in the bottom of the 8th.  Burns ripped
a one-base hit, and an error was also committed.  Dwyer came next and he
would ground out scoring the run.  This was a game of many highs and lows for
the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 6 times in all.  

The winning pitcher was Dwyer(9-7) who allowed 5 runs for the game. Henry
Boyle(13-11) took the loss.  He gave up 6 runs and 7 hits in 8 innings.
