Harry Davis had 4 hits and 5 RBI at Exposition Park as the Pittsburg Pirates
beat the Baltimore Orioles in 11 innings by the count of 13 to 12.

The score was tied at 11 after nine.  Finally, Pittsburg prevailed in the 11th
inning.  Mike Smith opened up the inning nicely when he drew a walk.  Bill
Merritt came next and he drew a walk.  Jesse Hoffmeister then reached on an
error.  Jesse Tannehill came up and he hit a deep fly which scored a run.
Denny Lyons stepped into the box and ripped a base-knock giving Pittsburg the
win as 2,995 happy fans joyfully celebrated.  This was a game of many highs
and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 6 times in all.

The victory was credited to Charlie Hastings(1-2) who went 3 innings, allowing
1 run. Joe Corbett(12-6) was the losing pitcher.  He was touched for 15 hits
and 6 walks in 10 and 1/3 innings.
