Ed Lennox had 4 hits at Forbes Field where the Brooklyn Superbas beat the
Pittsburgh Pirates 8 to 5.

Fred Miller(1-1) labored throughout the game but hung around to record a
victory.  He gave up 9 hits and 1 walk in 5 and 1/3 innings.  Brooklyn banged
out 12 hits on the afternoon.  

George Bell got the save, his 1st.  Deacon Phillippe(3-3) was tagged with the
loss.  He allowed 11 hits and 4 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.  'We really
needed this win' said Brooklyn's manager.  'That first drink of water at the
end of a drought sure does taste good!'
