Bob Groom whitewashed Chicago on 3 hits and Wid Conroy had 2 base hits and 2
RBI as the Washington Nationals bested the pitiful Chicago White Sox 7 to 0
at American League Park.

Groom(13-5) was simply too much for the Chicago batters.  He allowed only 3
hits and 4 walks in 9 innings.  Washington finished with 14 hits in the
victory.  

Fred Olmstead(3-6) absorbed the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 14
hits and 5 walks in 8 innings.  Wth the win Washington now has a record of
49-34.  Chicago continued their losing ways and their record is now 26-56.
They are 2-8 in their last ten games.
