Gus Weyhing tossed a complete game and shortstop Monte Ward had 4 hits and
scored 3 times as the Brooklyn Ward's Wonders outscored the Cleveland Infants
5 to 2.

The game started off with Brooklyn taking the lead in the first plating one
baserunner on 2 base hits.  Ward lined a single.  John Ward then called for a
steal which was successful.  Jersey Bakley then threw a high and inside pitch
that got by the catcher; it was ruled a passed ball scoring the run.
Brooklyn had 14 hits for the afternoon.  

The victory was credited to Weyhing(12-14) who went the distance, allowing 2
runs. The loss was charged to Bakley(11-17).  He was unable to control the
Brooklyn offense and allowed 14 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.
