Snake Wiltse took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and Harry Davis collected 2
extra-base hits and scored 3 times as the Philadelphia Athletics defeated the
Chicago White Sox by a score of 7 to 2 at South Side Park.

Wiltse(1-0) pitched a solid game.  He went 9 innings allowing 7 hits and 5
walks.  The left-handed Wiltse had his no-hit bid broken up by Dummy Hoy who
singled with nobody out in the 6th inning.  Philadelphia managed 14 hits in
their victory.  

Jack Katoll(8-7) was the losing pitcher.  He got hammered, allowing 14 hits
and 2 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.  With this win, Philadelphia has a 38-33
record.  They have been 5-5 lately.  With this loss, Chicago has a 5-5 record
