Walker Cooper collected 2 extra-base hits and had 3 RBI at Municipal Stadium
as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Kansas City Athletics by the count of 12
to 4.

Cooper led the offense for Pittsburgh.  He banged out a single which brought
home a run in the 1st inning, tripled resulting in a run in the 6th inning
and doubled knocking in a run in the 7th inning.  Kansas City was out-hit by
Pittsburgh, 18 hits to 11.  

The victory went to Early Wynn(7-8) who went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs. Dick
Donovan preserved the game for Wynn, recording his his 5th save.  Camilo
Pascual(2-1) was given the loss.  He was unable to control the Pittsburgh
offense and allowed 12 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings.
