Tommy Bond had an impressive outing at South End Grounds where the Boston Red
Stockings beat the slumping Buffalo Bisons by the score of 4 to 1.
Boston set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring 2 runners on 2
hits. That was all the offense they were to need. After the 4th inning,
neither team was able to score.
Bond(21-10) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Denny
Driscoll(0-4) was the loser. Sam Crane lamented, 'Bond was really aggressive
today. He kept coming after our hitters. Heck, why not. he kept sitting our
guys down one after another - like so many bowling pins!'
