TEAM RISP- Senators: 11 for 21 Spiders: 1 for 13

Jake Boyd pitched a complete game and Ed Cartwright had 4 hits and 4 RBI as
the Washington Senators really laid it on the Cleveland Spiders 18 to
2.

Cartwright provided much of the offense. He banged out a single resulting in
a run in the 1st inning, tripled plating a run in the 7th inning, tripled
knocking in a run in the 7th inning and doubled which brought home a run in
the 9th inning. Washington bats were very productive in the 7th inning which
saw them score 9 runs on 9 hits. Offensively, Washington was a juggernaut.
They scored in 6 separate innings.

Boyd(2-3) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. Phil
Knell(2-13) ended up with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 23 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.

'It felt really nice to get this win,' Boyd said. 'I kind of dictated the
game. It's what I get paid to do. It worked out this time.'
