Frank Arellanes went the distance and first baseman Jake Stahl hit 2 doubles
and had 4 RBI as the Boston Red Sox crushed the slumping Detroit Tigers 15 to
3.
Stahl had a big day at the plate. He stroked a base-hit bringing in a run in
the 1st inning, doubled which was good for two runs in the 2nd inning and
doubled which scored a run in the 6th inning. Boston bats were very
productive in the 1st inning when they had 4 runs on 6 hits, the 2nd inning
which saw them score 4 runs on 3 hits and the 6th inning with 6 runs on 8
hits. Boston managed 22 hits in their victory.
The win went to Arellanes(14-4) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Ed
Willett(11-8) was the losing pitcher. He was unable to control the Boston
offense and allowed 22 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
