Jack Coombs was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and left fielder Fred Clarke collected 2 extra-base hits and
had 4 RBI at West Side Park where the Washington Nationals beat the
Chicago-NL Cubs 8 to 3.

Washington promptly took the lead in their half of the first plating one
baserunner.  Washington banged out 10 hits on the afternoon.  

Coombs(3-15) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. The loss was
charged to Cy Morgan(12-8).  He allowed Washington 6 runs in 5 innings of
work.
