Cincinnati had the winning rally in the 9th inning when they came up with 5 runs on 4 hits. The big moment was provided by Harry Hooper who disappointed the partisan crowd when he lined a single scoring two baserunners. Cincinnati had 9 hits for the game and Brooklyn had 6. Ed Summers(9-5) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Doc White(4-12) suffered the loss. Rob Hickok was all smiles after the game, 'To pull a game out in your last at bats, is a beautiful feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out there? You could have heard a pin drop when we took the lead. But, hey, that's what makes baseball so great - as the great sage Yogi Berra says, 'it's not over 'til its over.'
