In a close game the Cleveland Indians tallied 4 runs in the 1st inning and got
by the Philadelphia Athletics by the score of 7 to 5.

Philadelphia fell behind quickly as the Cleveland offense came through in the
first inning when they came up with 4 runs on 2 hits.  Philadelphia went down
quietly in the 9th.  

The win went to Rip Hagerman(3-6) who allowed 5 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.
