Hank Majeski had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the phenomenal Boston Red Sox defeated
the Washington Nationals by the score of 8 to 4 at Fenway Park.

Boston had 3 runs cross the plate in the 5th inning when they came up with 4
base hits.  They would prove to be the difference in the contest.  For the
game Boston out-hit Washington 15 to 6.  

Rex Barney(11-5) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 5 innings. Barney
got help from Nels Potter who was credited with his 16th save.  Gene
Bearden(10-7) was given the loss.  His ERA increased from 2.55 to 2.89 as he
allowed 7 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.
