Roy Campanella ripped a bases loaded blast as the Cleveland Indians topped the
New York Yankees by a score of 9 to 4 at Municipal Stadium.
Cleveland brought 8 runs across the plate in the 6th inning when they had 5
base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Campanella who came through
for the home fans when he emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun. New
York was out-hit by Cleveland, 13 hits to 6.
Howie Pollet(11-3) got the win allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Bill Wight(4-3)
