Jimmy Sheckard had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Brooklyn Bridegrooms topped
the Boston Beaneaters in 10 innings by a score of 7 to 6 at Washington
Park.

Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings.  Brooklyn ended up
winning it in the 10th inning.  Fielder Jones reached on an error.  Sheckard
was next and he doubled giving Brooklyn the win and sending the home town
fans into a frenzy.  For the game Brooklyn out-hit Boston 16 to 6.  

Kit McKenna(2-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Jack
Stivetts(1-5) was tagged with the loss in relief.  'It felt really nice to
get this win,' McKenna said. 'I kind of dictated the game. It's what I get
paid to do. It worked out this time.'
