Roscoe Miller allowed George Stallings to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game and he had 3 base hits at Bennett Park where the Detroit Tigers beat the
Philadelphia Athletics 5 to 3.

Detroit erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning plating 3 runs on
3 hits.  Miller led off and he doubled.  Doc Casey came next and he doubled
knocking in a run.  Ducky Holmes then drew a walk.  Jimmy Barrett followed
next and he lined a one-base hit driving in another run.  Barrett was running
on the next pitch and he stole second.  Eddie Plank then tossed a pitch that
the catcher mis-handled scoring the final run of the inning.  Detroit banged
out 8 hits on the afternoon.  

Miller(12-8) was the winner allowing 3 runs for the game. Plank(11-5) suffered
the loss.  'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,'
Miller said, 'this was one of those times.'
