Red Donahue had a complete game and second baseman Nap Lajoie had 4 hits as
the New York-AL Highlanders won a dandy at Hilltop Park over the Boston-AL
Americans, 7 to 6.
The game was decided in the 9th inning. Socks Seybold drew a walk. After an
out was recorded, Deacon McGuire came to bat and reached on an error. Wid
Conroy then drew a walk to load the bases. Herm McFarland came up and he
banged out a single giving New York-AL the victory as 8,455 happy fans
celebrated wildly. New York-AL rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.
The win was credited to Donahue(13-7) who went the whole way allowing 6 runs.
Wiley Piatt(2-4) suffered the loss in relief.
