Jimmy Williams cracked a homer and had 3 RBI and Al Orth went 9 solid innings
as the New York Highlanders defeated the St. Louis Browns by a score of 3 to
1 at Sportsman'S Park.

Orth(7-11) dominated St. Louis hitters.  He was stingy on the mound, allowing
just 4 hits and no walks in 9 innings.  New York had just 6 hits for the
afternoon.  

Barney Pelty(8-8) was the loser.  He surrendered just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9
innings.  'He was moving it around and spotting it very well.' St. Louis'
manager said.  Orth pitched a great game. He deserves all the credit.'
