TEAM RISP- White Sox: 4 for 17 Highlanders: 2 for 14

The Chicago White Sox ended a long winless drought and nipped the New York
Highlanders in 11 innings 4 to 3 at Hilltop Park in a hard fought
contest.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Chicago ended up
winning it in the 11th inning. Ping Bodie lashed a single. Matty McIntyre
stepped into the batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. One out
later, Kid Gleason was walked intentionally. Morrie Rath followed next and
he slapped a single scoring the run. Chicago finished with 13 hits while New
York ended up with 9.

The victory went to Ellis Johnson(3-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs.
Johnson was helped out by Doc White who recorded his 10th save. Tommy
Thompson(0-4) was the loser in relief.

When questioned, Nixey Callahan remarked, 'It's been a while since a win felt
this good - heck, it's been a while since we had a win period!'
