Ray Collins was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at Fenway Park as the indomitable Boston Red Sox won in
dramatic fashion coming back to beat the Cleveland Naps by the count of 3 to
2.

Boston scored the winning runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs. Bill Carrigan
kicked off the action when he drew a walk. Hick Cady came to the plate and
laced a single. Harry Hooper then reached on an error bringing in a run.
Steve Yerkes was the next batter, but he struck out. Tris Speaker came up to
bat and was walked intentionally to load the bases. Duffy Lewis joined his
teammates in the uprising and was hit by a pitch resulting in an exciting win
for Boston and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Boston
totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Collins(9-0) who allowed 2 runs for the game. The
losing pitcher was Vean Gregg(6-11). He gave up 10 hits and 5 walks in 8
innings.

Collins and Cady were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great
come from behind victory. As Jake Stahl noted, 'A win like this one can do
wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the
players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
