Center fielder Tris Speaker went yard and had 3 RBI at Shibe Park where the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics beat the Washington Nationals by the score of 9 to
2.

It was a good day for Philadelphia-AL thanks to Speaker.  He tripled bringing
in a run in the 3rd inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in
the 7th inning.  Philadelphia-AL ended up with 11 hits for the game while
Washington had 7.  

The win was credited to Ray Collins(11-5) who went 7 innings allowing 1 run.
Fred Blanding(10-10) was hit with the loss.  He gave up 8 runs in 6 and 1/3
innings of work.
