Joe Dimaggio connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI at Fenway Park as the
Washington Nationals beat the Boston Red Sox 12 to 8.

Washington jumped on top to stay in the top of the 7th inning scoring 3
runners on 2 hits.  The highlight belonged to Dimaggio who silenced the
stadium when he belted a three-run homer.  Washington out-hit Boston for the
game, 13 hits to 9.  

Bob Chesnes(6-1) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Andy
Hansen(2-5) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 5 hits and 3 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.
