Jackie Robinson collected 4 RBI with one swing of the bat as the Cincinnati
Reds topped the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 10 to 4 at Crosley
Field.
Robinson enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He slapped a base-hit in the 5th
inning, banged out a single in the 6th inning and launched a rocket-shot out
of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in the 7th inning. Cincinnati managed
10 hits in their victory.
Dick Fowler(6-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing 4
runs. Billy Pierce(6-7) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 5 innings
