Bill Hoffer allowed Bill Watkins to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and first baseman Tom O'Brien had 2 base hits as the Pittsburg Pirates
outscored the Cincinnati Reds 9 to 6.

Hoffer(5-0) was solid if not spectacular.  He was reached for 12 hits and 3
