Larry Jansen had a strong outing at Cleveland Stadium as the smoking-hot St.
Louis Cardinals beat the floundering Cleveland Indians 10 to 1.

Al Evans had a big day at the plate.  He tripled resulting in a run in the 6th
inning, ripped a base-hit in the 8th inning and smashed a two-run homer in
the 9th inning.  St. Louis had 14 hits overall, while Cleveland had 2.

Jansen(8-12) allowed 1 run in 6 innings, and picked up the victory. Ken
Trinkle recorded the save, his 3rd.  Howie Pollet(7-6) was given the loss.

St. Louis continued on their recent roll, their winning streak now reaching 7
games and counting.
