Enos Slaughter had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Crosley Field where the Cincinnati Reds
beat the New York-AL Yankees 10 to 5.

In the 6th inning Cincinnati scored 8 runs when they had 5 base hits.  The key
at-bat was by Ralph Kiner who made the Cincinnati fans a happy lot when he
bombed a two-run dinger.  Cincinnati finished with 15 hits while New York-AL
ended up with 10.  

The win was credited to Ken Raffensberger(8-5) who went 7 and 2/3 innings
allowing 5 runs. Carl Erskine(11-4) ended up with the loss.  He was knocked
around, surrendering 6 runs in 5 innings.
