Ad Gumbert went the distance and Billy Shindle had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at
Robison Field where the Brooklyn Grooms beat the St. Louis Browns 10 to
7.

St. Louis never recovered after Brooklyn took the lead in the top of the 7th
inning scoring one runner.  Candy Lachance reached on an error.  Tom Daly
next to the plate and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  After another out, John
Grim then lined a base-hit scoring the run.  Brooklyn kept the pressure on
throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.  

Gumbert(8-8) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 7 runs. Bill
Kissinger(4-2) absorbed the loss.  He got hammered, allowing 13 hits and 4
walks in 9 innings.
