In a tight game it was the Chicago Cubs 6, the Boston Braves 4 at South End
Grounds.

Chicago had the winning rally in the top of the 9th inning with 2 runs using 2
hits.  Red Corriden got things going when he drew a walk.  Roger Bresnahan
stepped up to the plate and he lined a base-hit.  After another out, Tommy
Leach then worked the squeeze play to perfection scoring a run.  Wilbur Good
came up and he laced a single scoring the final run of the inning.  Overall
Chicago out-hit Boston 11 to 7.  

Bert Humphries(5-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing
no runs. Casey Hageman recorded the save, his 1st.  Bill James(11-6) was
charged with the loss.  

With this win, Chicago has a 45-44 record.  They have been 7-3 lately.  With
the loss, the Boston ballclub's record is 47-39.
