Hal Newhouser hurled a fine complete game shutout and he had 2 base hits at
Yankee Stadium as the Washington Nationals beat the New York Yankees by the
count of 4 to 0.

Newhouser(9-9) looked very much in control throughout the night.  He didn't
give up much, just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 4.33.
Washington rapped out 9 hits for the night.  

Robin Roberts(8-6) was charged with the loss.  He gave up 3 runs and 7 hits in
6 and 1/3 innings.
