Richie Ashburn had 5 hits and 2 RBI and Robin Roberts was able to finish what
he started and was credited with a complete game as the New York-AL Yankees
defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 8 to 4 at Forbes
Field.

Pittsburgh found themselves trailing quickly as the New York-AL bats came
through in the first inning when they came up with 3 runs on 4 hits.  New
York-AL totaled 17 hits on the night.  

Roberts(8-8) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. Ewell
Blackwell(9-3) was charged with the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing
11 hits and 2 walks in 3 innings.
